Burn

Burn is a psychological horror short about a grieving mother who continues to care for a monstrous creature locked in her basement. She brings it food, toys, and memories from her son’s childhood, desperately hoping something will calm its growing rage. But no matter what she offers, the creature only becomes larger and more violent. When it suddenly transforms into the image of her battered teenage son, she is forced to confront the truth behind the monster she has been feeding.

Through a series of haunting flashbacks, the mother relives the years of relentless bullying her son endured at school, from physical violence inflicted by classmates, humiliation from teachers, and the painful moments when he came to her for help but was ignored. She witnesses the consequences of her denial and indifference as the memories spiral toward a devastating climax. Overwhelmed by guilt, she finally accepts that the creature in the basement is the embodiment of everything she failed to face. In the end, the monster remains, growing from the weight of regret she can no longer escape.
